The Waterlily is one of the development phases in Gamuda Cove. The Waterlily consists of 57 units of bungalow type houses, with 2 storeys and 1 basement floor. Also, part of the Waterlily is management office, and guardhouse. The project also consists of a 2.48 acres recreation pond within the development boundary, and ample green spaces. The Waterlily is built with green and sustainable features, such as sustainable façade design, energy and water efficienttechnology, and a comfortable indoor environment which allowed it to be awarded a Certified rating for the Green Building Index (GBI). The Waterlily is designed with a low windows-to-wall ratio building façade using high-performance glass to reduce heat gain through the building envelope. The project development buildings are also designed to ensure good levels of diffused daylight enters the interior of the building, equipped with a rainwater harvesting system to reduce overall water demand by reducing landscape irrigation needs and annual potable water consumption, and The Waterlily also designed to have great cross ventilation which allow fresh air to constantly fill the building. Energy efficient lighting and sensors are used to optimize energy savings for external or common areas in the waterlily residence area. The residential area is also near to basic community amenities, reducing the need for private transportation in the future. The Waterlily is also subscripted to QLASSIC, Quality Assessment System in Construction works by renowned quality building assessor to ensure the certified workmanship quality. Contractor of the Waterlily is encouraged to practice sustainable construction whereby reused, recycled content and regional buildingmaterial are prioritized during material selection, construction waste is well segregated and recyclable waste shall be collected for recycling purpose. The Waterlily is also implemented low concrete volume usage, which results in low concrete usage index (CUI) and reduction in carbon footprint. Most of the project total material cost are extracted and manufactured locally. For indoor environmental quality wise, the bungalows are finished with low-VOC content to ensure better indoor air quality. More than 80% of the hardscape areas at The Waterlily are paved with materials having a solar reflection index of more than 29, which helps to reduce the heat island effect in the residential area. Additional green efforts undertaken by The Waterlily inclusive the usage of UHF Tag system and a digital smart lock system which reduce raw material usage to create physical keys and cards and carbon footprint. The Waterlily also had installed CCTVs within the development, which uses thermal cameras that have benefits of performs in every environment condition, immune to visual limitations and fever false alarms. Next, the street lightings are powered by solar energy which does not require any electricity (TNB) to operate. Furthermore, one 11kW EV charging station will be provided at common area (Parking area at Management Office) and single-phase isolator at all residential units in The Waterlily. Part of the landscape within The Waterlily consisted of herb garden and fruit tree farm to cultivate the habit of self-sustenance amongst the residence. Within the development itself there is also shaded cycling network and walking network that encourage residents to cycle and walking as a form of transport. Last but not least, the solar heater is used to provide hot water system to the bathrooms of each unit in Waterlily which can reduces carbon footprint and cost benefits.
