Ban Hoe Seng Auto – Honda Showroom and Care Center, is a showroom, service and spare parts centre located in Klebang, Perak that has been awarded GBI Gold certification under the Non-Residential New Construction V1.0 rating tool. The development is the first car showroom in Malaysia to achieve such recognition as a green building. Below are some of the design highlights of the 3S Centre and the inherent green features that makes this building unique. Design Criteria Description Building Energy Index (BEI) Estimated energy index of 89 kWh/m2 per year for Car Showroom and 10 kWh/m2 per year for Car Workshop. (Less than 50% of the energy index compared to a standard design according to MS1525) Natural Daylighting Approximately 50% coverage of Net Lettable Area illuminated by natural daylight through large glass openings and skylights, and reduces the dependency on artificial lighting. Artificial Lighting Zoned lighting with photo and motion sensors. Energy efficient LED lighting are installed. Air-Conditioning System High efficiency variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system with high COP (Coefficient of Performance) value to reduce energy consumption Photovoltaic 40 kWp PV installed offsets 25% of energy consumption Rainwater Harvesting 100% potable offset for landscape irrigation and car wash bay. 641 m3 of rainwater harvested annually is equivalent to 46% of total potable water demand of the Honda 3S Centre. Water Fittings Building is equipped with WELS 3-ticks rated fittings to provide 58% water fittings savings. Natural Ventilation Natural ventilation through stack ventilation and cross ventilation at Car Workshop area. Vertical Greenery Vertical Greenery installed at the wall of the workshop area Building Energy Monitoring System Energy and water consumption in the building is monitored using digital power meters. Educational Features Car Showroom is equipped with screens that display the energy and water usage in real time, as well as green features of the Honda 3S Centre.
